A message from Dr. Citron…

I am excited join Dr. Jamie Baines in her Direct Primary Care Practice. What I have always loved about practicing medicine is the relationships with patients.  That is why Direct Primary Care is so appealing.  DPC allows the physician to spend the time needed to really know each patient and to give the best care possible.

I love the idea of being able to be the doctor that I would want to see for my own care. When I was forty I had my first mammogram and it turned out to be breast cancer. That was my first experience with needing my doctors to be fully engaged, empathetic and able to guide my care with knowledge and expertise.

My experience with breast cancer also guides my practice as a menopause specialist and I prioritize science and evidence based care. There is a need for doctors who are knowledgeable  in menopausal hormone therapy and the appropriate ways to prescribe.  I love this area of medicine because it is possible to help women feel so much better in the present while also protecting their health for the future.

While I enjoy the focus on midlife women’s health including mental, metabolic, bone and sexual health. I also love the “cradle to grave,” care that I can provide as a family doctor. I love seeing babies, kids and young adults. Senior adults have always been a big part of my practice. I am so grateful to be able to provide care throughout the life cycle.

Other areas that I have always been interested in are adult ADHD, depression, anxiety and obesity medicine. I look forward to continuing this in my new practice.

Stop feeling invisible, dismissed, and alone during one of your most important transitions.

Evidence-based hormone therapy, if appropriate, can treat this life stage as the beginning of your best years, not the end.

Today’s modern hormone therapies, such as transdermal estrogen and natural progesterone, and even some synthetic hormones are safe, effective, and truly life-changing. While outdated fears still linger from the Women’s Health Initiative study of the 1990s, today's options can be safe and effective. This isn’t just about easing symptoms, it’s about optimizing your health and reclaiming your power over the aging process. With regular monitoring and tailored adjustments, hormone therapy supports strong bones, a healthy heart, and sharp cognitive function for decades to come.
